With nearly an 80-year history, DECA has impacted the lives of more than ten million students, educators, school administrators, and business professionals since it was founded in 1946. Tennessee DECA values competence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Tennessee DECA is governed by its constitution and bylaws, which can only be amended at the Tennessee DECA State Career Development Conference by the eligible voting delegates. More information about the State Career Development Conference can be found here.

Tennessee DECA operates under the Tennessee Department of Education and is led by the state advisor. The state advisor is responsible for implementing all of Tennessee DECA's programs and activities, leading staff members, and providing guidance to chapter advisors and students throughout Tennessee.

Tennessee DECA is organized into four districts, each having its own District Career Development Conference. More information about the District Career Development Conferences can be found here.
